The next parliamentary election in Hungary will be held on 11 April and 25 April 2010.[1] This will be the sixth free elections after the end of communism. The 386 members of parliament are to be elected in a combined system of party lists and electoral constituencies.[2]

Polls

As polls showed both MDF and SzDSz would be unlikely to make it into parliament on their own, they have agreed to a limited electoral cooperation.[3] In February 2010, polls also showed that the Hungarian parliament after the election was likely to be completely dominated by Fidesz polling at 42-55% that month, followed by the ruling Hungarian Socialist Party at 11-16% and newcomer Jobbik at 9-13%.[4][5] Recent opinion surveys show that Jobbik is expected to win over 20% of the votes.
